FSSC 22000
Version 6, certified for the processing — separation, filtration and homogenisation — and packaging of honey.
At Upendo Honey, registered as Third Man Ltd, we are committed to food safety and are FSSC 22000 certified — one of the few companies in Tanzania to achieve this certification. In addition we are certified to USDA NOP and EU Organic standards. We are one of only two companies in Tanzania registered as a B Corp, and we have received a Silver EcoVadis sustainability rating.

Documents
Version 6, certified for the processing — separation, filtration and homogenisation — and packaging of honey.
Certified by Ecocert to EU Regulation 2018/848 and the USDA National Organic Program, under control body code TZ-BIO-154.
Honey reception and homogenisation are both managed as operational prerequisite programmes.
Full analysis from certified laboratories (QSI, Intertek) and traceability data are available for all batches on request. Certificates for FSSC 22000, USDA NOP and EU Organic can be supplied to buyers.
Independent testing
We do not certify our own honey. Completed batches are sampled by our QA department and sent to Intertek Food Services GmbH in Bremen, Germany, an independent laboratory accredited by DAkkS, the German national accreditation body.
Testing in the destination market is deliberate. A European buyer can check our analysis against a laboratory their own auditors already recognise, using methods accepted there, rather than taking a certificate from Tanzania on trust.
Analysis covers pesticide residues under EU Regulation 396/2005 and veterinary residues under Regulation 37/2010; botanical and geographical origin; and the trade parameters — HMF, moisture, pH, diastase and free acidity.
